How It Works

This tool converts notes from a standard-tuned guitar tab (EADGBe) into notation for a 17-key C-Major kalimba.

Notation: Notes are C(1), D(2), E(3), F(4), G(5), A(6), B(7). A degree symbol (°) denotes a higher octave (e.g., 1° is C5).
Chords: Notes played at the same time are grouped in parentheses, like (1 3 5).
Approximation: The kalimba is in C-Major, so notes not in that scale (like F# or A#) are rounded down to the nearest note in the scale (F# becomes F).
Range: Guitar notes outside the kalimba's range (C4 - E6) are transposed by octaves to fit.
